Expectations for cargo turnover growth are connected substantially with the launching in December 2005 of Ust-Luga-Baltiysk-Germany ports ferry and putting in operation in 2007 of two regular diesel ice-breakers for piloting heavy cargo vessels in the Finnish bay. “Baltiysky Zavod” (Russia), a ship building company, has won the bids for ice-breaker construction. Cost of the project is about USD 100 million.
