| At the first stage “Gasprom” on its own undertakes construction of the surface part of the gas pipeline on the Russian territory. The sea section of the gas pipeline from Russia to Germany on the bottom of the Baltic sea is 1128 km long. It will be constructed with German “BASF” and “E.ON” in participation within the framework of the Russian-German Joint Venture “North European Gas Pipeline Company” created specially for said purpose. Construction of the first line will be completed by the middle of 2010. The second line of the gas pipeline will be put into operation in 2013. The total capacity of the gas pipeline will amount to 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. |
