Documents which are necessary for filing a new case with the Russian PTO:

1. Name and address of an applicant and author(s);
2. 5 black and white photographs of perspective view, 5 black and white photographs of each additional view of the article, i.e. front view, rear view, top view, bottom view, side view. Size of photos is 18x24 cm, 13x18 cm or 9x12 cm. Instead of photographs it is possible to submit good quality drawings or computer generated pictures;
3. 3 pictures of the closest prior art and description thereof as well as information as to where and when the closest prior art was first published or disclosed (optional);
4. Detailed description of the claimed design;
5. List of essential features, defining the scope of protection which is to be divided into two parts – a preamble containing featurеs, which are common with the closest prior art; and a characterizing part containing features, which distinguish the claimed design from the closest prior art;
6. Power of Attorney*;
7. Copy of the first application if the convention priority is claimed.

* Power of Attorney shall be issued by the Applicant and signed by an authorized person indicating his name and position in the company. The date and place of the signature shall be indicated as well. No notarization or legalization is required.
