According to the estimations of International Alliance of Intellectual Property in 2007 the amount of damages inflicted by the Russian pirates on the USA right owners (about USD 1,4 billion) has shrunken by 27% as compared to 2006, on account of reducing piracy in the sectors of business programming and musical recording. Alliance calculations are used by the USA administration while making a list of pirate-countries, which are deprived of the preferences in trade with the USA. Russia and China have not fallen under the sanctions, but within quite a number of years were among the members of priority supervision list.
