The Ekaterinburg office of Gorodissky & Partners held the «Intellectual Property Week» together with the local authorities of Ekaterinburg City and Perm Territory, as well as the Ural Federal University. IP Seminars in Ekaterinburg and Perm, roundtables, legal advices, book reviews and other events focused on certain aspects of intellectual property took place during the Week. The speakers were Vladimir Meshcheryakov, Legal Adviser; Alexander Vasilets, Partner, Russian Patent Attorney; Victor Gorshkov, Partner, Russian and Eurasian Patent Attorney; Sergey Medvedev, LL.M, Lawyer; Veniamin Kazakov, Lawyer (all of Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow); Sergey Egorov, Partner, Office Director, Russian Trademark Attorney; Elena Baikovskaya, Russian Patent Attorney; Ekaterina Solonitsyna, Lawyer (all of Gorodissky & Partners, Ekaterinburg). The events attracted more than 200 representatives of the regional business, IP specialists, mass-media.

Webinar “Trademark use & non-use: recent developments of the Russian legislation” focused on recent amendments in the Russian trademark legislation was held by Gorodissky & Partners (Moscow). Main topics included the trademark use requirements, non-use issues and the changed procedure of the non-use cancellation were highlighted by Vladimir Trey, Partner, Trademark Attorney, and Evgeny Alexandrov, Ph.D., Chief Lawyer, Trademark Attorney (both of Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow). The webinar’s target audience included trademark attorneys, lawyers and business people interested in the Russian market.

Valery Medvedev, Managing Partner, Russian and Eurasian Patent Attorney (Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow), attended FICPI Ex-CO and Congress.  He and other delegates from Russia signed with President of FICPI a Memorandum of undertaking establishing Russian Group of FICPI which was officially proclaimed at the closing Ex-Co session.
About 300 delegates from 52 countries attended the Congress.

The 10th annual seminar “IP Protection Strategies for Company Successful Development” was held in Gorodissky & Partners Moscow office. Leading IP attorneys and lawyers from the Moscow, St.Petersburg, Ekaterinburg and Kazan offices of the firm spoke on effective legal protection and management of intellectual property in Russia and abroad, and shared with the most interesting and successful cases of their practice, particularly relating to IP protection in IT area. A special Workshop on IP due-diligence and accounting of a company IP assets attracted much interest.
The seminar was well-attended by over 40 top managers, attorneys, lawyers, marketing and brand-managers, economists of industrial companies, R&D centers, universities and other  institutions from many Russian cities. Some attendees participate in the Gorodissky seminar year by year, being attracted by its actual and balanced program, vivid high-level presentations, lively discussions and practical orientation.

Dr.Tatiana Pogrebinskaya, Trademark Attorney, Counsel, and Dr.Natalia Radchenko, Trademark Attorney, Counsel (both of Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow), gave presentations on “EAC-mark and trademark” and “Correlation of rights on means of individualization and collision thereof” at the V International Forum “Intellectual Property – XXI century” held by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Expocenter exhibition complex.

Sergey Egorov, Partner, Patent Attorney, Director, Gorodissky & Partners (Ekaterinburg) gave a presentation at the conference “Fake goods on the market. Theory, practice, solutions” organized by the Ministry of Trade, Food and Services of Sverdlovsk region. Over 100 representatives mostly from trade, service, food stuff and agriculture areas attended the conference.

Sergey Medvedev, LLM, Lawyer, and Dr.Natalia Radchenko, Counsel (both of Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow), were the speakers at the regular  seminar held by M-Logos Law Institute on topic issues of protection and turnover of IP rights in Russia. Sergey Medvedev delivered a lecture “IP security: legal and practical issues” which concerned the peculiarities of legal regulations and practical aspects of IP security deals conclusion. Dr.Natalia Radchenko spoke on “Correlation of rights on means of individualization and collision thereof” and highlighted the peculiarities of appearance and action of exclusive rights on trademark, company name and commercial designation, grounds for collision of rights and practice of dispute resolution. The seminar gathered about 30 representatives of business, such as advertising, IT and legal practice.

Tatiana Pogrebinskaya, PhD, Trademark Attorney, Counsel (Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow) took part in the first session of the Organizing Committee of the IV International IP Forum Expopriority’2012. Proceedings of the III International IP Forum Exporpiority’2011 were summarized, crucial issues of Forum development in 2012, a draft Program of the International IP Congress within the Forum, including a work schedule of the Section “Importance of exhibition priority and IP protection issues in exhibition business”, were discussed at the session.
The Forum will be held on November 28-30, 2012 (Moscow, Expocentre Central Exhibition Complex).

Sergey Dorofeev, Partner, Patent attorney, Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow took part in the LES International Conference help by Regional Group LES Australia/New Zealand. The Meeting gathered about 300 delegates representing state institutions, universities, financial structures as well as law firms and business companies, mostly from the US and Australia.

Yury Kuznetsov, Patent Attorney, Partner and Vladimir Meshcheryakov, Counsel, “Gorodissky and Partners” (Moscow), took part in the conference “The particulars of the intellectual property protection in Russia and abroad”, organized by Nizhny Novgorod Region Ministry of the Industry and Innovations, Russian Federal Nuclear Center, All-Russia Research Institute of Experimental Physics,  Tekhnopark Sarov and “Gorodissky and Partners”. Yury Kuznetsov gave the presentation «Registration of patent rights in the Russian Federation. The legislation and practice in the field of inventions and utility models protection in Russia and abroad», Vladimir Meshcheryakov highlighted the topic “Status and perspectives of the employee’s and secure inventions protection”.
About 70 specialists mainly from a nuclear sector participated in the conference.
