16 January 2013About 30 applications for famous trademarks (among them Valio, President, Domik v derevne) have been recently filed with the Russian PTO for goods «sour cream», «fermented baked milk», «condensed milk», which were added to Class 29 as of January 1, 2013. According to Vladimir Biriulin, Partner of IP Law Firm Gorodissky & Partners (Moscow), the Russian PTO would probably reject such applications, but «if these trade marks would ever be registered, the right owners are able to appeal the registrations in the Chamber of Patent Disputes with highly probable subsequent cancellation of registrations of these trade marks».
