• Russia Introduced New Rules on Data Processing Consent

  Beginning September 1, 2025 data controllers are prohibited from including consent language into any documents and legal clauses other than the consent forms. It is likely that new amendments restricting the cases where the personal data processing may be based on the consent will be quick to follow.

• On amendments to the legislation on the Russian language
  18 June 2025

  On June 17, 2025, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted the law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation” (draft No. 468229-8) in the third reading.
  This law, in addition to amending legislation on culture and public policy, supplements the Law “On Protection of Consumer Rights” with a new Article 10(1).
