EAPO: Changes in the Eurasian patent certificate content and preparation procedures
20 February 2017The Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO) continuously transits to paperless documentation management technologies and another milestone on this way is introducing a new Procedure for Preparing for the Grant of a Eurasian Patent Certificate and Supplementary Documents that has been recently approved by the EAPO Order No. 7 of February 20, 2017. According to this new procedure starting from January 1, 2018 the Eurasian Letters Patent will contain only official form signed by EAPO President, but without printed specification of invention, claims, drawings and abstract which can be downloaded from the EAPO web-site.
Our law firm for many years practices on demands of a number of its clients depositing their Letters Patents and sending them electronic high-resolution scans instead of costly couriering paper documents.
Starting from January 01, 2018 with the introducing of the mentioned Procedure such mode as already practiced by us for years will become the only available for Eurasian patents of all our clients.
