Remote Participation In The Hearings At The Appeal Board Of The Patent Office
15 January 2016Remote participation in the hearings on appeals has become possible from January 15, 2016 through video-conferencing with the Patent Office.
This will make it possible not only relay the hearings to other locations but also to record them. The system allows connecting up to twenty remote locations which relieves the participants from personal participation at the hearings.
Remote participation does not require special software however the user shall check his computer for compliance with certain technical requirements and send a petition to the patent office at least 15 days before the hearing. Information on the date of the hearing is sent to the participants and also may be found at PTO’s site: http://www.fips.ru/sitedocs/Boards.pdf .
