Reorganization of the state system of IP protection in Ukraine

On August 23, 2016, within the concept of the state IP protection system reframing the Government of Ukraine adopted a resolution on optimization of activity of executive authorities of the state legal system of IP protection.

The resolution involves:

•  Abolition of the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine;
•  Transfer the function of the corresponding public service to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine;
•  Transfer of the management of the state-owned companies «Ukrpatent», «Ukrainian Agency of Copyright and Related Rights» and «Intelzaschita» to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.

The State Intellectual Property Service will be serving until the effective date of the Government legislative act on implementation of the relevant authority by the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine.
