BRICS Intellectual Property Forum "BIPF 2026", Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Yaroslava Gorbunova, Partner, Senior lawyer (Gorodissky & Partners, Saint-Petersburg) and Nikita Maltsev, Ph.D., Senior lawyer (Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow) participated at the BRICS Intellectual Property Forum "BIPF 2026" in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Yaroslava Gorbunova took part as a speaker in the panels "Brand Protection and Anti-Counterfeiting Strategies" and “Standard Essential Patents (SEPs): Litigation and Perspectives Across BRICS”.

Nikita Maltsev spoke at the session "New Challenges in Intellectual Property", where he paid special attention to the topic "Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property", as well as “From Patents to Value: Unlocking Innovation Across BRICS”.

As part of the conference program, they made round of visits to the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (INPI), the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC Rio), and the department of the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service (Receita Federal) responsible for customs clearance of goods arriving at the port of Rio de Janeiro.
