Presentation at the seminar for lawyers “IP laws: new version of Part IV of the Russian Civil Code, relevant court practice and burning legal issues”

Sergey Medvedev, PhD, LLM, Senior Lawyer (Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow) spoke on “IP deals: practical aspects of conclusion and registration – main problems, typical mistakes” at the seminar “IP laws: new version of Part IV of the Russian Civil Code, court practice and burning legal issues” organized by the Law Institute “M-Logos” for lawyers and counsels practicing in the IP area. The speaker highlighted the main problems concerning the disposal of exclusive rights and typical mistakes related to registration of the respective transactions in the RUPTO. The presentation was supported by numerous cases from the court practice, as well as Sergey’s practice. A special attention was paid to different situations in terms of drafting, concluding, amending and terminating IP agreements, such as assignment, license, franchise, security interest and trust management contracts. The seminar brought together about 30 lawyers and counsels from various business sectors, such as IT, oil & gas, financial, etc.
