Conference ‘Intellectual Property - 2025’

Inna Rybchak, Trademark Attorney (Gorodissky & Partners, Moscow) spoke on ‘Trademarks with geographical element and regional brands: peculiarities of legal protection and correlation of rights’ at the conference ‘Intellectual Property - 2025’ organized by Pravo.ru portal.

Inna Rybchak noted that there has been an increase in refusals to register trademarks that use designations of little-known geographical names, which are usually perceived by consumers as fictitious words. In addition, intellectual property experts discussed the problems of IP regulation in foreign jurisdictions.
