On December 16, 2021 a new development has been made - the Russian government adopted a schedule of official fees for certain legal operations related to registration of Eurasian trademarks and appellations of origin which enter into force on July 1, 2022 (The Government Resolution No.2318 dated December 16, 2021).

On December 31, 2021, the President of Belarus signed the Law No. 137-Z "On the Accession of the Republic of Belarus to the Protocol on the protection of industrial designs to the Eurasian Patent Convention of September 9, 1994". After the entry into force of the Protocol for Belarus, the Eurasian patent for an industrial design will be valid on the territory of seven countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Belarus.

On December 30, 2021 the law on accession of Russia to the Geneva Act of the Lisbon Agreement on Appellations of Origin and Geographical Indications was signed by Russian President and issued. the Geneva Act had been adopted at the diplomatic conference in Geneva (Switzerland) on May 20, 2015 and came into force on February 26, 2020.

The State Duma approved the law introducing changes to the law on Patent Attorneys. The law has been signed by President and published on December 21, 2021. It will take effect one year after its publication.

Protocol on the Protection of Industrial Designs was in force for 5 countries members of the Eurasian Patent Office (EAPO): Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. On November 30, 2021, the Protocol entered into force in the Republic of Tajikistan as well.
